Beware of Adulterated Diet Pills!

With the increasing rate of obesity, a lot of pharmaceutical companies are trying to get into business by manufacturing diet pills. However, not all pharmaceutical companies can be trusted because some are just manufacturing pills for the sake of earning. Hence, there are some tainted diet pills that contains undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients.

According to researchers, these undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients can be very highly addictive. There is an incidence wherein a female patient aged 29 years old got addicted to Brazilian diet pills which contained undeclared ingredients. The female patient also suffered psychiatric episodes.

Due to this incident, experts concluded that people should be more aware of the diet pills that may pose addictive potential. Apparently, the adulterated diet pills have rising prevalence nowadays and people should be more aware of such pills.

In this latest study, the Brazilian diet pill contained ingredients such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and the highly addictive amphetamine. Obviously, these two ingredients were not seen on the label of the Brazilian diet pill.

In the 80’s, diet pills that contain ingredients such as amphetamine were made available in Europe and US but were banned not long after. However, despite being banned, these ingredients still remain widely available.
