
Diet Sodas Don’t Help in Your Diet
If you are fond of drinking diet sodas thinking that it can help you to lose weight, then think again. Recent studies show that diet sodas won’t help in dieting at all. Those who drink diet sodas experience increase in waist circumference that were six times more than those who don’t drink this beverage.
Aside from that, diet sodas contain aspartame, which is a sweetener. In another study, this time conducted among mice, the sweetener has raised the blood sugar levels in mice that are prone to diabetes.
Based from the two studies, promoting diet sodas and sweeteners as being healthy alternatives are not advisable. Although they are free from calories, they can cause other health threats such as diabetes.
The results of the study show that heavy exposure to aspartame such as drinking diet sodas every day can only lead to increased blood sugar levels contributing to the risk of diabetes.
Apparently, drinking diet soda will only lead to poorer health. Hence, if you want to lose weight, then you should consider changing your lifestyle by eating nutritious foods and having regular exercise.
